Malacca’s rich history covers 600 years from a Malay Kingdom under Chinese protection to a Portuguese build port, then take over by the Dutch, who passed it to the British and eventually made a part of Malaysia.
The drive to Malacca takes us through rubber and oil plantations and other cash crops and fruit farms.
After lunch, in Malacca, we relive the past by visiting historical sites such as Cheng Hoon Teng Temple in Chinatown, the Dutch square with its old colonial buildings, the ruins of Portuguese fortress, A Farmosa and last but not least a climb up St. Paul’s hill to see where the body of St. Francis Xavier was interred.
We also visit the heritage Pewter of Malacca specialising in making pewter figurines.
A tour worth for its rustic charms!
