Itinerary (Kathmandu - Pokhara - Shaulibazar - Ghandrung - Tolka - Dhampus - Pokhara - Kathmandu)

ITINERARY SPECIALLY PREPARED FOR KATHMANDU / POKHARA (TREKKING)

DAY 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu. On arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu you will be met by our representatives. Then board a waiting vehicle for transfer to your Hotel. City Maps and detailed itinerary will be handed over to you. On the way to your hotel, our representative will brief you on Nepal, general do's and don'ts and also explain your program in brief. Upon arrival at the hotel, you will be offered a welcome drink, and shown to your room. Later our representative will brief you in more detail on your itinerary and answer any questions you may have.

1400 Hrs : Sightseeing tour of the KATHMANDU CITY - Hanumandhoka - Kathmandu's Durbar Square is the historic seat of royalty. The Durbar Square with its old temples and palaces, epitomises the religious and cultural life of the people. It is here that kings of Nepal are crowned and their coronations solemnized. Also visit the Taleju Temple built by King Mahendra Malla in 1549 AD, the temple of Kal Bhairav - the God of destruction and the temple of Kumari (Vestal Virgin) or the Living Goddess - represents a very ancient Hindu deity of Nepal locally known as Taleju is Buddhist by birth. The Kumari acknowledges greetings from her balcony window. Once a year during Indra Jatra festival, the King of Nepal seeks the Kumari's blessing. Kasthamandap -- Located near the Kumari Temple is said to be built from the wood of a single tree from the city. The city of Kathmandu derives its name from this temple. The Kathmandu Durbar Square was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Monument List in 1979.

Next to SWOYHUMBHUNATH STUPA- the oldest Buddhist shrine. It is said to be 2,000 years old. Painted on the four sides of the spire’s base are the all - seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. It is 3 km west of Kathmandu City and is situated on a hillock about 77 m above the level of Kathmandu Valley and commands an excellent view of the Valley. This Stupa is the oldest of its kind in Nepal. It was also listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Monument List in 1979. Dinner / Overnight in Hotel Vaishali.

DAY 02 :
0700 Hrs : Breakfast in Hotel. Transfer to domestic airport to fly to Pokhara. Upon arrival meet by trek crew and drive Nayal Pul (New Bridge) 2 hrs drive and walk to Shaulibazar.

POKHARA - SHAULIBAZAR : Walking 3 Hrs.

Note : Walk to Birethanti will be too short (half an hour) therefore the first night will be in Shaulibazar. The walk is gentle and you cross Modi Khola. Further easy walking through the Gurung village, you can have a glimpses of Machapuchare d Mt Annapurna. Lunch will be served enroute. Dinner and overnight in tented camp in Shaulibazar.

DAY 03 : SHAULIBAZAR - GHANDRUNG (1951 M) Walking 3 / 4 Hrs.

After breakfast , quiet a big climb. You will see very closely view of Annapurna South and Machapuchare. Ghandrung is a big Gurrung Village. There is also a Gurung museum . Great for mountain views and exploring the village. Lunch will be served enroute. Dinner and overnight in tented camp in Ghandrung.

DAY 04 : GHANDRUNG - TOLKA (1710 M) - 4 / 5 Hrs.
After breakfast walk downward straight and cross Modi River and ascend through the fields followed by a gentle walk to reach Tokla a Gurung Village. You come across forests and can view the Himalayas. Lunch will be served enroute. Dinner and overnight in Tented Camp in Tokla.

DAY 05 : TOKLA - DHAMPUS (1629 M) - 4 Hrs.

Today's walk is a gentle one first followed by ascending to Doerali - 30 min & finally long descend to Dhampus.. The beautiful views of the Himalayas can be seen from the trekking route. Lunch will be serve enroute. Dinner and overnight in T/C in Dhampus.

DAY 06 : DHAMPUS - POKHARA
You will get the morning breakfast and walk to Phedi (an hour and a half) and drive to Pokhara. Upon arrival check in at Hotel Barahi. Lunch in hotel or in local restaurant.

Dinner and overnight in Hotel Barahi.

DAY 07 : After breakfast free till you will be transferred to the airport to fly to Kathmandu. Arrival transfer in Kathmandu. Rest of the day at leisure. Lunch (on own). Dinner and overnight in Hotel Vaishali.

DAY 08 : Transfer to Tribhuwan International Airport for your departure flight.
