Kunming. Inhabited by Chinese for 2000 years; remaining a remote outpost until the 8th century, thereafter, becoming a secondary capital of the kingdom of Nanzhao which centered to the northwest of it at Dali, obtained wide fame in the Ming dyansty. Main attractions and touring spots in Kunming are the Black Dragon Pool, Draguan Park, the beautiful Dianchi Lake, Golden Temple, Qiongzhu Temple (Bamboo Temple), Western Hills and Yunnan Stone forest known as "the most fantastic scenery under heaven". It is a massive collection of grey limestone pillars, split by rain water and eroded to their present fanciful forms. Covering a total area of 350 square kilometer, it includes the big and small stone forests. Since the Ming dynasty, Stone Forest has long been one of the most famous scenic spots in China.

Xian. Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi Province, is the largest city in northwest China. Originally known as Chang�an, Xi�an is a famous ancient city in China and was the starting point of the ancient Silk Road. From the 11th century B.C. on, it served as the capital of a dozen dynasties. Hence Xi�an boasts a large number of historical sites, such as the site of the pre-historic Banpo Village, the life-size terracotta horses and armored warriors excavated from sites near the mausoleum of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, the Greater and Lesser Wild Goose pagodas of the Tang Dynasty, and the Stele Forest of the Song Dynasty.

Guilin. Guilin has a long history and brilliant culture. To the north of Guilin City, there are Baojiyan Cultural Site in Old Stone Age 30,000 years ago. Guilin mountains and rivers as the best scenery attracted a lot of famous poets in Tang Dynasty. The poems and essays they wrote added charming brilliance to Guilin forming a unique culture. In Ming and Qing Dynasty, Guilin became a key cultural city in Lingnan. The education in Guilin is so developed that it is also called the Zhuangyuan City.
